Does anyone besides me invest for fun and speculation with the stock market? Anyone belong to an investment club in the OKC or surrounding area?

With a club, do you vote on what to invest in for that month or quarter?

I've been playing with a few stocks, all just pure fun. One is Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Every time I'm in Vegas I have a big grin knowing I own a portion or basically a floor tile in a few casinos.

If you look closely, the lady in the red dress is standing on that one tile I own!!!

I do for fun, not a part of an investment group. Penny flipper mostly, made more than I thought I ever would, never invested more than I could afford to loose:)

Speaking of investments, is anyone else here long in RGR or SWHC? I think that, given the predicted "run up" on firearms going into the election, most firearms owners would be smart to be playing buy-and-hold of these guys.

Stock market players come in many different forms, the usual being either the rich high stakes highly knowledgeable serious investor or the little guy with a bit of extra cash that isnt needed- basically money he can afford to lose and wont miss it- so he plays around with cheapie stocks with limited knowledge of it all. Im in the latter category: co-owner of several small businesses who after paying my bills and adding to my kids college acounts and my retirement accounts has some extra cash to play around with who plays the market 'lightly'. To me its no different than taking cash to the casino to blow- probably better odds playing the market.

MUCH better odds if you know what you are doing. There are many possible safety nets you can use through options and sell orders.

I invest, but I wouldn't consider what I do as being "for fun." :D
