Politicians, lawyers and unions will destroy this country from within long before any missles could.
And they already have.

We know what Jack Kennedy did in this situation. What would our illustrious, courageous leader of today do were this to be true? OH, right.. a big ball o'nuthin.
This is all just posturing. Not by Iran but by us. We probably covertly aided in their possession of these missiles so we'd have reason to liberate them from their oil.
And we all know, only America can strategically place missiles around the world for their defense. If anyone else does it, it's an act of war.

Maybe so, but as to the missle's we placed all over the world, alot of that was during the start of the Cold War, and NATO. Most of those countries had no defense from the USSR, and we provided the bulk in support, troops, and missiles. At the highest point during the Cold War we had as many service members in Europe as were used in the first gulf war, somewhere around 500,000. The USSR had 10 times that on the other side. I understand lots of folks on here don't remember those times, or are even old enough. I spent four tours in Germany, one of which was along the Fulda Gap doing patrols. No oil there, but damn glad to have Pershing 1's and II's behind me.

I know this is not why you write posts like the above, but let me thank you in the most sincere manner possible for your time in harm's way, and thank you again for your calmness in acknowledging the fickle and inexperienced viewpoints of current US foreign policy.
The reminder to me is that those who came before were not meglomaniacal empire builders, but veterans who experienced the ugliness of war firsthand in far-off places and sought to keep that ugliness as far from our shores as permittable by the diplomacies of the day.
