1000 grit is fine enough, no need to go to 2K I like to use a flat sheet of granet or good dense particle board if nothing else is available.

Keep it up Grasshopper, you will evolve.

The grips are the original ones that came with the gun, though I did refinish the wood inserts.

Recent change: a set of Hogue grips I got at the Wanenmacher show in Tulsa recently...
I like the Hogues a lot since the recoil energy is spread out over a larger area and is more comfortable. (They look sharp too!...)

I agree, those really DO look mighty sharp. I will have to look into those. Thank you for your quick reply.
