After I got my haircut this morning and before returning home I stopped in the Norman Academy and they had a Kimber Rapide Dawn on the shelf for $1649.99+tx.......got to fondle it but the slide cut-outs and the gold barrel don't really appeal to me.
Slide cutouts wouldn’t bother nearly as much as the gold barrel.
But otherwise, looks cool, except for the fact that it’s a Kimber.

I don't like gold-coloring on any gun except for the brass/brass plated Henry or Winchester rifles. Even then it's a little too flashy for me.
I will have a Black KDS9C in my mitts by the end of the week, though. Looking forward to trying that one out.

I love my Kimber. It will eat anything. The Remington R1 was a jam O matic out of the box.
Yep, they seem to be very hit or miss. Run like a scalded ape (no offense meant towards apes) or jam-o-Matics.
I really wish they'd discover TiCN coatings. I hate the gold too. At least on guns...

My first and only Kimber. Have not been inside yet and it is one smooth and great natural grip. Shoots as fine as any Smiths and Colts I have owned. I actually wondered about Kimber Semis when I shot this the first time.
