A blonde is getting started in gardening, but isn't having very good luck, particularly with her tomatoes. One day at the local farmers' market she sees an old man with the most beautiful tomatoes she's ever seen, so she stops by his stand.

"Excuse me, sir, but I couldn't help noticing your tomatoes. I've been trying to raise my own, but I'm having the most awful luck. Would you mind giving me any pointers on raising them?"

"Sure, I'd be glad to," he replied. He thought for a moment, then said, "probably the most important thing I do is moon 'em," (by which he meant he planted them by the phases of the moon).

She thought it sounded odd, but he did have amazing tomatoes, so she silently vowed to try it. She thanked him for the advice and left.

A few months later, she's back at the farmers' market and stops to talk to the old man again.

"I tried your advice about mooning my tomatoes," she said.

"And did it help your tomatoes?"

"No," she said, "but I do have the biggest cucumbers I've ever seen!"
