I'm old, stubborn, and on occasion been told just plain hard headed. I don't care who identifies as what. Man, woman, horse, mule or monkey. No man is going into a restroom with a female member of my family without a fight.

I'm just not that worried about it. My son won't be going in alone for a long time. If I have a daughter, she won't either.

My personal opinion is that we should do away with segregated sex bathrooms altogether. Make the stall doors and walls better / no gaps, and all use one larger room. Put the urinals at the back with better dividers so that you can't see anything walking by. Solves the problem of not enough holes in the women's room, parents having to take the opposite sex child into the "wrong" restroom, and the whole transgender/identity issue all in one swoop.

I also have never understood the level of privacy (especially sound) expected during bathroom use.

I think this thread is focusing on a half of 1 percent chance. It's more likely you are going to have a pervert of the same sex in the room with your loved ones, than a cross dresser.

I don't trust anyone under such circumstances. It could be a pervert/rapist/pedophile/molester/voyeur/kidnapper/porn-tographer - any one or all the above, using their supposed "gender" as cover.

Follow (for lack of a better word) 'it' into the restroom where you can protect your loved ones.

I think the public restrooms on Malta are the way to go. Everyone uses the same restroom. A line of urinals on one wall, stools on the opposite wall.

As the father of three little girls, I'm not sorry at all for my answer.

I've heard this before and have to agree.

No matter how they're dressed, if a man by birth goes into a restroom my little girls are using I'll have to self identify as the Tooth Fairy and take a few teeth.

Dont matter to me that they would be trangendicated or not. Any adult/teen/ and even kid, is capable of assault. Even the frail old man is capable of feeling up your sons/daughters in a bathroom stall.

I hate to break it to some of you, but while you were clinging to your morals and societal norms, the world moved on without you. Sure not all MtF and FtM trans persons are what they call "passable", but a lot of them are and there's no legal or ethical way to tell the difference even if you did suspect.
