British climber Adam Potter fell more than 1,000 feet down the side of a mountain face in the Scottish Highlands called Sgurr Choinnich Mor. When the Royal Navy sent a rescue helicopter to locate him, he was found standing on his own power and reading a map. He gets my vote for bad-ass of the century.
