Microfishing

I rigged up a very small hook I think it was a size 16 trout hook.
I was about 12 years old catching crawdads and this big boy would not come out of the hole.
I even stuck my finger in the hole and let him pinch it and I tried to pull him out.
He would just let go when he got close to the top of the hole.

Tiny hook with bacon went into it's mouth and I pulled him out.

We were fishing off a dock, under a light. The mayflies so thick it was hard to breathe.

The mayflies landing on the water and the water looked like it boiling.

I rigged a willow branch with light line, a #24 hook and managed to get a mayfly threaded on the hook.

Daughter had a blast catching finger sized catfish for the next 2 hours.

Here, and I thought 6 oz was the biggest fish in Skiatook lake. My average is about 4oz sunfish.

Spread them out in the sun to dry and you can have crunchy dilli's snack.
I don't care for them but my friends gobble them down. (Sun dried anchovies)

My son used to do that with his pole when he was little and bored while we were fishing. He didn't have a special Japanese rod, just a Paw Patrol one. Guess he was ahead of his time.
