I was given a 24 volt mobility scooter the other day and batteries were bad .
I got it going with an $18 DC motor controller off my homemade electric bicycle and 2 batteries.
Pretty slow and forget hill climbing.
I installed my 48 volt lithium battery pack a buddy made me and it transformed that scooter.
I suppose I need to GPS it to get some mph figures.
I am thinking maybe 8-10 MPH.
It has wheelie bars and has been on them a few times during whiskey throttle launches :)
Heck of a hole shot.

Now it just needs a tow hitch and some off-road tires....

Off road tires check.
It went 9MPH up hill and 11 down hill with the stock solid small tires.
Then with the big tires it went 11 up hill and did not check down hill on the same hill but hit 13 down a less angled hill.
Watch the corners at high speed because it will toss you.
Think you would need a new knee from trying to save yourself from a face plant.

Harbor freight $3.99 on sale. I stole 2 tires tires off my home made Dually Dolly.
If you have never built a wide track dual tire dolly you need to. They will not tip over.

Not much MPH lost from up hill to down hill tells me there is plenty of Torque in this set up and could stand to have an even taller tire.
No the rim size was not the same I used the original rim and drilled it for a valve stem and centered it into the HF tire and inflated it.

It is a little off center and you get a whop whop whop at higher speed but worth the experiment.
That little rim is 3.75" and the HF tires have a 4" rim bead measurement.
