I have a fairly new 10/22 that has, up until now, been freakishly reliable. Lately, however, when I have taken it to the range and loaded it up the first round would fire just fine but the second would not. When I pull the trigger nothing happens, not even a click. The trigger just feels all mushy. If I eject the round and rack the nest one it will fire but not the one after that. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

and I've shot several thousand rounds through mine without cleaning it, but if you use crappy or old ammo it'll foul up in a hurry
Great ammo that shoots clean, just takes a bit longer to get dirty. Try a suppressor on the end of a 10/22. Talk about get dirty fast.
sounds like you may be getting hammer follow up. as in disconnector not working properly. when you eject the unfired round it is cocking because your finger is no longer on the trigger.

I'm surprised that no one offered to take it off your hands yet. As stated by others, needs a really good cleaning.
