Horsehide is actually recommended because of its denser nature thus giving it greater resistance to moisture.
Natural materials (wood, leather, etc.) tend to hold in moisture.
I use Militec on my carry guns--I sweat a lot, but no rust up to now. CB
a good coat of automotive paste wax will keep the salt off your gun too.

Thats just a casualty of a good concealed carry gun sometimes. No matter how hard you try, If you are a die hard CC, you are at risk for rust, lint etc. Either clean it everyday, or have a rugged enough gun that will go BANG everytime you shoot. Your CC weapon dosent have to win a pagent... Just needs to work when the booger hook engages the BANG switch.
Ya could just get a glock
Glocks are a little too chunky in the width department for my tastes.
