Make sure it's a WAX and not a polish. Those don't work too well on blueing. I use Johnson's Paste wax on a few of my blue guns that don't get shot much. It seals very well for a long time.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't dare. I've got a nice stock pile of Zymol wax that should do nicely. Proud to say the first business I started was a car detailing outfit before I could even drive. Didn't make much money and I have a messed up shoulder because of it, but it taught me how to work hard.
