The Logan County Sheriff’s Office has learned what believed to be a possible police impersonator is actually a task force vehicle for Noble and Kay counties.

So, a DA investigator for Noble/Kay counties was making traffic stops around I-35 and Waterloo. I have two questions:

1) Does this person even have jurisdiction outside those counties (honest question)
2) Why on earth would a DA investigator be making traffic stops at all? Much less makiing them in an unmarked unit and freaking people out?

If he's a commissioned LEO, he has juridiction throughout the entire state doesn't he?

If he's on the drug task force, I could certainly see him making stops along I-35....maybe he is working in conjunction with District 7 and/or 9?

I make that drive daily, and if someone in an unmarked vehicle not wearing a uniform attempts to stop me, I'm not stopping. If they want to stop med bad enough they'll call OHP for assistance at which point I will stop.

Can a Logan County Deputy make traffic stops in Oklahoma County? no....but he can arrest for felonies, right? I was actually wondering whether DA investigators in general were given statewide jurisdiction like OHP.

The article said Noble/Kay County DA's investigator. Look...even if this is technically legal, which it may be, is it a good idea? Esp. if you don't let the local Sheriff's office know you're there?
