Not 100% certain but I believe I saw a Mountain Lion Cub

Didn't a mountain lion get hit by a car a couple of years ago, near Yukon? I seem to remember an article about one being killed.
I had a picture of one on a game camera a couple of year ago, but it was not very clear, it could have been a bobcat standing by something making his tail look long.
Savannah cats are being raised in Oklahoma, which are larger than house cats, but the tail is not very long.

It is one my dreams to see a mountain lion here in Oklahoma before die
I ran wild through the hills of SE OK as a kid and it took me until I was 25 yo to see one, but always knew they were around. Will never forget the day (Dec 26th) or the feeling when I saw it sunning itself on a 30 ft bluff above me, and 60 yards out. It stood up, arched its back and stretched, then sat on its haunches, staring at me for just a minute or two before turning and walking casually into the trees. It didn't spook and bolt like other wild animals.

That's been 21 years ago now and I have yet to see another.

I live a couple of miles from there, I saw him yesterday. Wasn't sure if it was what I thought it was either. Least I know I'm not completely crazy now!

That or we are crazy together!
I saw one about 20 years ago by Indian Creek near Ringwood. That was at the time they were "not here". I know they are around and someone with the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes told be a female and cubs had a den north of the Casino. It was just very strange to see one that young and running on the road and in broad daylight!

You're not crazy at all. well maybe, but not on this topic. A few years ago we were tending the cattle down on Cache Creek on horseback, heard what sounded like a Woman's scream from down the creek, took of that direction and captured the sight of a Mountain Lion going up the bank into the woods. It was a pretty green backdrop and the beige coloring and long tail stood out perfectly. That cat was not afraid of us at all, and although we were 45-50 yards from it, the cat just mosied along, no fear at all. Told my old (89yrs old) farming buddy about it and he told me that he had seen them around in the past, he also told me that no one would believe I saw one. Beautiful creatures and not one I am in any hurry to come face to face with in their domain.

I saw one near Stratford early one morning. 3 of us in the truck pulled up to a barbed wire gate and stopped. Before I got out too open the gate a large cat with a 6' tail walked right in front of the truck headlights. 10' away.
And

It was black.

Now why did you have to go and make it about color?! Now the BLM (black lions matter) folks will be all up in arms.

I have been chastised plenty here on OSA for claiming to have seen a black panther, mountain lion (whatever you wanna call it) and I wouldnt have believed it myself had there not been 3 of us there to see it straight in front of the headlights just across the fence. But we all agreed that we had just seen a black cat with a 6' tail.

Whatever you saw you DID NOT see a melanistic mountain lion. You are getting chastised because it is well known that Puma Concolor does not even carry a gene for melenism. Therefore it simply cannot occur. It would take a mutated gene to produce one, which is EXTREMELY rare and often fatal to the animal. From Mountain Lion.org:

Many people have heard the term "black panther," but these are actually melanistic jaguars or leopards: a genetic trait that makes an individual cat's fur appear much darker than the usual coloration. To date there has never been a confirmed case of a melanistic (black) mountain lion.

Never ever anywhere, even in well known mountain lion country has there ever been a confirmed melanistic lion. EVER! We aren't talking bigfoot here, but dang close! LOL Maybe you saw an escaped leopard from someone's enclosure? That would honestly be more likely than a black Mountain Lion.

BACK TO THE OP! Mt. Lion cub? More likely than a black mountain lion, but highly doubtful. Unless I am wrong all the mountain lions confirmed in Oklahoma are males? Have we ever had a female in state? Any confirmed breeding females in state? Males especially young ones are more likely to go on a "walkabout" looking for new territory or even mates. I believe that's all we have found in Oklahoma. Anyone know for sure?
