Per their EXCLUSIVE story:
Apparently, the NYPD went to 9mm semi-auto pistols in 1993. Officers from back then who are still on the force today are grandfathered to carry a .38 special six-shooter. About 150 of them still do.
Starting August 31st (of 2018, I'm guessing), they will be forced to transition to the 9mm Glock or Sig.
I wonder if six-guns will still be allowed for backup or off duty carry?
