OCPD Det. indicted for participating in illegal gambling.

The article was poorly written with almost no details. I did not know one could be charged with participation in illegal gambling, as a gambler. Does anyone know any details on this case? Was he facilitating the gambling somehow? This was connected to two others who were indicted for "online gambling". He had made a disability claim or something in the last year.

I guess that is what I am asking. Online gambling is not illegal for the gambler (from what i've read, I am not lawyer). Are they alleging that he was involved deeper than that? Anyone know?

In Oklahoma the only way to legally gamble is to be at a Tribal owned facility. There might be a code of ethics in OCPD that would prohibit a officer from gambling online

I can't believe we prosecute anyone for gambling in this state. Its okay to gamble, but only when a specific race owns the casino. Otherwise, it is very illegal. Really, who gives a crap.

This is stupid. I knew an OCPD officer that wrecked his cruiser while receiving favors from a "professional", many years back. They gave him a good talking to and put him on an unfavorable shift. If you can gamble in "designated areas" you should be able to do it from your computer, or wherever. Put him on a crappy shift, and let him work!
