There's a million things that will stop a mature buck in his tracks. Could have been the bran, maybe not, who knows. I will say that the biggest buck I've got on cam right now has yet to put his head down and eat corn or rice bran, and I've got about 30 pics of him on two different cams. He walks right through and doesn't stop to eat.

Bucks are looking for does right now. Wind was pretty calm this morning. My guess the does smelled him enough to stop. The buck stopped because does stopped. The first buck walked right by looking for a doe.

I just picked up a buck decoy to try out this year. I'm wondering if putting it out during an archery hunt will scare off does. I'm in the market for meat this season.
