Okay...silly question time...

I need a cleaning kit for my AR and I'm thinking that a military style kit like the one below is just as good as any.

My silly question is...will this kit fit in a single mag pouch like one would wear on a chest rig or battle vest type of loadout? I have a triple mag pouch and I thought I'd stick it in the middle pouch because I don't like carrying three 30 rounders in it.

Anybody know?

Yes it will fit in a magazine size pouch. The tools themselves can actually fit in a smaller pouch or container smaller than what's shown. The M-16 and Colt SP-1 (non-retractable buttstock) had a compartment in the stock that was used for the cleaning kit.

I have and don't like the milsurp cleaning kits. The rod is steel. Not good to have steel on steel when swabbing out the barrel.

The female ends also have a tendency to flare and make it even worse.
