Old Ruger 10/22

I've got an old Ruger 10/22, my first firearm, and I'm having an issue. I've replaced some of the internal parts (springs, extractor, etc) as well as the stock and barrel. I'm happy with the barrel (22 in stainless Green Mountain) but the stock (Ruger factory delux walnut) is a little loose on the trigger group area. The trigger group rattles around and it caused some light firing pin strikes. So I replaced the hammer spring with a new, heavier spring. This seemed to work, but the trigger group still rattles around. I want to shim it or bed it but don't know the best option. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do?

yes... I've experienced the same thing... best thing to do is give up and sell it to me...

Have you tried replacing the hammer and sear?

It's the actually trigger housing that rattles, not the hammer or sear. I have thought of replacing those though just for a better pull.

how tight are the pins that hold the group to the reciever? does it rattle out of the stock?

Pins are a littel loose, but not that loose. It would fall out of the stock if the pins weren't there.

may be the pins are worn or the hole are wallored (spelling)out a little. if you take the 2 i hae out of the stock the trigger group will stay together with the reciever

I have not personally used them, but I've seen good reviews of them, for whatever that is worth. Certainly sounds like a solution to your problem, though.
