Just bought the Lyman 1200 with the sifter lid; I've heard they are dusty, but I've been running mine in my shop, so I don't notice it. And I'm using the cheap bird cage cob and walnut media, which is supposed to be dusty as crap. So far, so good.

I have a lyman tumbler that was bought in the 80's. I can't tell you how many rounds have been through it. Its running as we speak.
Closed lid.
I have an RCBS rotary sifter that is wonderful. Less than $40 and it gets all of the polishing media out.

I leave the lid off, I use mine in the garage so it doesn't matter about the dust or noise. Since I've been throwing old dryer sheets in the media, it cuts down on the dust anyway.
