I missed Pat Jones interviews, but I don't think OSU was ever going to be a threat with him (although as I check I guess he had 3 pretty good years). IMO, it was Les Miles that started turning them around, and Gundy has had more success than Jones did.By and large, I liked Pat Jones. With him, Barry and Billy Tubbs at OU, and Norm Stewart at Iowa State, the Big 8 had some hella colorful coaches in the late '80s.
And Les Miles was a golden asshat. He belonged with the other horses' asses in the SEC.
I'm an OU fan, but personally I think Gundy is a good guy and a pretty decent coach. It's probably not easy to get eighteen year old kids leaving home for the first time to come live in Stillwater.
