Painting the kitchen

The wife decided that it was about time that I painted the kitchen. I have the paint already, the problem that I have is one can is flat enamel and the other one is gloss. Both cans are the same color, I just don't know which finish would be a better choice.

I prefer a flat or eggshell. Not a fan of glossy. But it's your kitchen lol

Paint the ceiling flat, the walls gloss or semi gloss.

What are you painting?

Walls? Cabinets? Ceiling?

Cabinets would be semi-gloss or gloss, but I would only use oil based paint.

Walls eggshell or semi-gloss.

Ceiling eggshell or flat, consider using something other than white, it is very trendy...

Trim semi-gloss, oil based only.

Always paint kitchens and baths gloss or semi gloss other paints will absorb stuff and you can't clean them.

What he said. Flat it eggshell will absorb odors too. In a bathroom, flat paints can absorb steam and will begin flaking after awhile

Use the gloss.....you can clean it much easier....and in a kitchen you WILL have spills and splashes....
