There is a time and place where a PDW stock is beneficial despite it's shortcomings. If you have to ask, then you don't have that need. It's actually pretty apparent what the purpose is. For most people it's strictly the CDI factor, I suspect.

That came off more dickish than I intended. It's purpose is maximum compactness at the expense of useability for everything beyond cqb, unless crappy cheek welds are your thing.

The purpose of some guns is to just be fun. Fun to build, fun to shoot, fun to share with your buddies, fun to just show off. I may end up making that lower f/a just for fun.

Probably, but at close range with quality red dot sights, cheek weld is something some might be willing to sacrifice for reduced length and increased maneuverability.

Bingo. The cheek weld isn't terrible, it's just different. It's somewhat similar to the MP5 collapsible stock.
