Pardon my ignorance, but does winter clothing make that much of a difference with JHP's?
If so, I've got all the FMJ ammo I need for winter....
Pow'RBall? The problem with hollowpoints in the winter is not penatration. The problem is that when it's cold people wear large coats. When a hollowpoint passes through many layers of fabric the cavity fills up with said fabric. Since hollowpoints are designed to expand when they hit liquid as in blood and guts. If the cavity is full of fabric it can't fill up with liquid and won't expand. So it acts like a fmj. There is a new defense round out that has the hollowpoint filled with a polymer plug to keep this from happening. Can't remember the name right now.
No, Hornady Critical Defense.

Winter time starts rolling in and I start think FMJ.
