The Channel 8 promo says, "How you can help police solve cold cases by giving your DNA..."

And what? Getting convicted? Ha ha. I guess crooks can be that stupid.

It was a simple procedure, just a swab in your mouth. There were a couple of forms, wanting SS#, DL#, address and a list of the serial numbers of any guns that you have in the event they get stolen and used in a crime, then you won't be charged. Took about 10 minutes.

Maybe if it was like one of those "gun buy backs" where if you turn in a gun that was used in a crime, they won't use that in evidence.

So, if they said "well, we are just building a data base for the future, but if your DNA was found in a crime before today, you are free".

Maybe someone would believe that.

Now, if I didn't have to show ID, then I could give my DNA and register as someone I really don't like............just thinking here.
