I'm purchasing a Sig 522 this week and I'd like to mount a red dot on it. Don't know a whole lot about them. I'm kind of stuck in the 30-50 dollar range so any good recommendations? Heres a few I been looking at but I'd like some opinions so I don't end up regretting what I get.

I have had a few of the BSAs. They work great on the 22s. I have the Barska on my SR22. It works really good. They don't take alot of abuse on a 22. Either one of them would be good, and in your price range.

This is what you want. There are several threads on here about Primary Arms. They are VERY good red dots for the money. I own three of thier scopes. Are they Aimpoints?????.....NOPE! But, they are VERY good for the money.

What kind of base has that RD got? Kind'a looks like a weaver but can't tell from the picture and can't find any info on the PA web site what it is.

Another vote for Primary arms here. The Bushnell TRS-25 is another good choice. However, the Primary arms is the best option for "lower-end" optics.

The Bushnell TRS-25 is the quintessential poor-man’s EOTECH. I have 2, one on an AR the other on an AK. They always keep their zero and they have 11 settings of brightness. The lower end optics will drive you crazy with staying zeroed after firing. The TRS-25 can be bought online for around $70. Its well worth saving a few extra bucks until you can buy one and you won’t be left with buyer’s remorse.

I put a bsa red dot from bass pro on my sons 522 and in twenty rounds it broke and so did the scope. Sig sent me the part for the 522 free of charge but no dice on the scope!!
