Nice doe & turkey retrieverman. Between work and a five year old I have only been able to get out to bowhunt exactly twice in the 18 days the season has been open. Twice! Are you kidding me? It is killing me...

You don't reckon the smell of a rotting hog over the next few weeks will affect your deer hunting if it warms up?

I might have moved it for that reason alone.

Actually, in the past, I've taken deer way away from the kill site. But a couple of years ago, decided to do a little experiment.

I shot a doe at a feeder, field dressed it right there, and had a camera on the gut pile.

Two days later, I still had deer coming to the feeder, and the gut pile was still there. Next day, I had a pic of the pile and then 7 minutes later, it was gone.

So, that certainly convinced me it doesn't matter squat where one is field dressed.
