Started shaping the handle this evening.
Aight, here it is. Still lots of room for improvement but I'm pretty happy with it for the first knife I've made. It dang sure got sharp enough to shave. I'll see how long it stays that way. Tomorrow I might go ahead and mirror polish the blade from bevels up to spine. Oh and yeah @blake711 I gotta get a scabbard built for it!
You did well! Beautiful knife!
Excellent work Cowcatcher
Very Nice. What kind of sharpener did you use?
I didn’t really make it, but repurposed.
I bought two of these old army electronics boxes at a yard sale for $10 each. I pulled the ragged foam out and replaced with new foam in the configuration you see here.
These boxes are air and water tight, and even have a pressure relief valve for air transport. There are 4 latches that suck the lid down tight, then you can padlock each of the latches.
I should be able to fit at least 12 magazines in with the 4 rifles.
That's impressive! Great Idea.
The belt grinder in the link below. Belts range from 36 grit to 3000 grit. I don't know how I lived without it.
I just have a 6" belt sander/disk combo....I didn't know they offered 3000 grit. I've got some 600. May have to do a little research to see if mine can get those belts.
