Regular PVC as underground conduit?

Ok, so I need to run ~100ft of low-voltage wire under ground.
I have 80ft of unused 2" sch40 PVC that I can't return and have no use for. Any reason not to use it?
I'm in the sticks so code isn't an issue. Options are to buy 2 more sticks of that, or 10 sticks of "conduit" and let that 2" just sit...

i don't know for sure but i think regular pvc will make the electricity run backwards. thats what i heard at the gun store.......

Sch 40 will rot and crack in the ground but not for another 8-10 years. At that time you'll have water intrusion and possible shorts, but lemme ask you this....how old are ya? In 10 years anything I do.... it may be someone elses problem!

My sprinkler system is PVC and has been in the ground 15 years without any trouble.

Everything I have seen says that PVC is basically impervious to anything you would come across underground and it's supposed to last like a 100 years when burried..

The only reason I have seen not to is because it is a little bit more expensive to use standard PVC instead of PVC conduit but that is not the issue here for me, and if it is ever unearthed you know if it is electric or water.

The only difference I’m aware of in between conduit and pvc schedule 40. Is that conduit is sunlight resistant. As an electrician I say use what you got.
