I have used sch 40 pvc for electrical for years with no problem, but like said seal the ends so mice dont get in .
For the pro's (and experienced), how would you recommend sealing the ends?

I would suggest the same thing. Caulk won't last more than a few years so you'll need to re-do it, but it's a small reminder on your calendar and a 1 minute job including cleanup. My idea was elbow up a bit, then a U going down so water can't get in, like a reverse trap....then a clean out cap on the bottom with a hole drilled to poke the wire through then RTV the heck out of it.

Someone been smokin some crack!Sch 40 will rot and crack in the ground
Only if you put the hammer down on it. It should bend if it's still good. Bury it for 10 years and see if it bends or shatters.Someone been smokin some crack!
Sch 40 can be brittle when new if your wacking at it with a shovel!
