Renewal, finally!

I finally received my renewal license on Thursday. I am leaving for Houston in a week and was worried I wouldn't have my new license before my old one expired.

Took them 75 days to renew it. I'm just glad I received it before traveling to Houston.

But your current license is good for so many days after the expiration date to allow for renewing isnt it?

might be but, sure wouldn't want to chance a misdemeanor on that.

Title 21 section 1290.5

B. A license may be renewed any time within ninety (90) days prior to the
expiration date as provided in this subsection. The Bureau shall send a
renewal application to each eligible licensee with a return address
requested. There shall be a thirty-day grace period on license renewals
beginning on the date of expiration, thereafter the license is considered

If the renewal has been applied for prior to expiration you have 30 days. If you don't apply for the renewal it expires on the expiry date on on the license.

I had a 30 day grace period but woul have been up before I left.

I am at 50 days right now since I sent in my renewal. I got the 10 year one.
