Do you ride the thumb safety when firing your 1911?

Right thumb on top of the safety, left thumb on the frame in front of the slide release. Never had a thumb jacked up or a slide stop engange because of a thumb in 2300+ rounds.

I was asking Mr. Les Baer some questions, he asked if I road the safety I told him no. He advised for me to change, he said riding the safety gives you a higher grip and better alignment. Since he knows just a little more then I do on 1911's I listened to him.
