Ridin' the safety...

Pretty natural for my thumb to ride it with thumbs forward. Don't want safety on till I'm ready for it to be on.

Right thumb on top of the safety, left thumb on the frame in front of the slide release. Never had a thumb jacked up or a slide stop engange because of a thumb in 2300+ rounds.

I was asking Mr. Les Baer some questions, he asked if I road the safety I told him no. He advised for me to change, he said riding the safety gives you a higher grip and better alignment. Since he knows just a little more then I do on 1911's I listened to him.

Well, that "should" end this debate....but it wont. And, yes, I ride.

thats how i was taught, i really didnt think there was another "correct" way

I gotta say I tried riding it with mine and it seemed to help with the recoil, but I gotta learn to put my left thumb in front of the slide catch.
