this makes about as much sense as anything. Some are reporting that Prigozhi said the pretense for invasion was a lie. This could very well be a calculated move to give Putin cover to save face and withdraw. Create the scapegoats to blame for the cluster that this has turned into.

Or not. Who knows.

I'm sure our government has been guilty of much. Though in this case it'd be interesting to see Russia turn on people within it's own leadership in order to save face for the top person.

This guy has a bunch of videos of Wagner troops driving right by Russian checkpoints. If true it's getting very interesting. I've seen a bunch of Prigozhi's rants on Twitter and he's been "going off" on the Russian military for several months. He's basically the only one who has had any success fighting the Ukes.

Here's a snag I found regarding Russia's nukes.

In the event of a general breakdown of order in Russia the strategic services would probably work with their Western counterparts to render the weapons inoperable until new PAL can be manufactured and installed, not an easy process. There was good cooperation after the fall of the Soviet Union.

After whatever semblance of order is restored and new PAL can be manufactured and installed it's whoever won, which is a pretty ugly thing to think about.
