S&W Mountain Gun

I had a S&W 296 Airlite Ti in .44Sp that was the most uncomfortable gun I've ever shot. Horrible recoil.

I had a chest holster from Diamond D in Alaska that was great for keeping my Model 629 tight to the body and out of the way, while still easily accessible.

How did you like that holster.

The holster was very well made. I am a bigger than average guy (a lot bigger) and they made me a longer shoulder strap. The holster holds the gun as tight against your chest as you want. Easy to draw from.

While not a Mountain Gun, I have a S&W M629 that my brother gave me when I graduated college in 1980. It’s a “no dash” that was ported and tuned by Larry Kelly. Really smooth action. The recoil is not too bad but good Lord, it is loud.
