School me on Epoxy flooring.

We are needing to do something with our living room floor after some of you guys were nice enough to pull up and get rid of the old carpet. Cheapest thing we have come up with that will stand up to the dogs we foster seems to be Epoxy floor covering. Wife saved up enough to have it done but I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with it?

We are having it professionally done. Only thing we will be doing is trying to move all the furniture and stuff out of the living room for a few days. Then moving it all back.

The need to acid prep the floor like a garage would be an issue. However, I think a living room floor would just need to be really clean. Mop, sweep, shopvac etc. rinse and repeat maybe.

I didn't know people did epoxy in houses, thought it was industrial. How long will fumes be a problem?

What’s the cost like for epoxy flooring? Drying time?

Have you looked into polyurea for flooring? I’ve heard it’s better than epoxy, but I don’t know about the cost.

Not set in stone yet but looks like in the 3rd week of July. Soon as wife makes up her mind on color and we get it set up for her to stay with her daughter a couple days with the dogs.

Our 20 x 14 living room will be a little over $1700 with a poly something sealer. First two coats dry overnight but the last coat only takes a few hours.
