Seeking opinion Sig vs Springfield in .45

My son wants a Sig .45. I suggested he look at the Springfield XD (since I'm paying for it!).
I have no experience with either, would appreciate opinions and advice from those who are.

I have both and my preference is the Sig. The Springfield XD has a higher sight radius that a lot of shooters don't like.

I agree with this. When faced with this I normally buy both!

What model is the Sig he's looking at? P220/P227/P250/1911 Any of the Classic Sigs or 1911 are much nicer than an XD, I can't say on the P250 since that one I've never owned. You might call around too because there are some killer deals on like new Sig CPO models in the $550-$600 price range.

I've have a bunch of handguns that I shoot, but the Sig P220 is beside my bed every night.

If you are considering a XD, then I would suggest the Glock 41. That is a great feeling/handling 45 for me. Personally, I'd probably go with the SIG, though.
