anyone load .40 in lead? I shoot a glock but could get an aftermarket barrel, but usually just use a 9mm conversion barrel, but what do you load? suppose you got to slow them down a bit for lead? I need to look and see if there is a unique recipe....tooo darn ole school to change now. lol

no slowing down for lead loads. usually the same load in lead creates less pressure than the load for a plated bullet.
Refer to your reloading manual...the lyman 49th is a good one.
I shoot lead from my 45 at 850+fps200gr and my 357 mag at 1376 fps 170gr
Zero leading..of course the 357 is gas checked..nearly 2000 fps from my 30-30 no leading.
Wheel weights work great...
Soft lead like shower pans and plumbers pipe i get leading. at any speed.
Yes slug the barrel..
The Lee liquid alox works great in all my cast loads..2 coats for the 357 and 30-30.

You sure will save a bunch on bullets if you cast your own..
My buddy just got an XD40..i have a feeling i will be making some cast loads for it soon.
His first gun and he likes to shoot it a bunch..
And less than 4 bucks to make 50 of your own. win win
