Turns out they were more bark than bite so the end result was they limped away. Hope it all turns out well for this guy cause it seems he was just defending himself.

The phrase; "obtained his handgun" made me think it was not on his person. Then it would be been; 'he revealed his handgun' or somesuch.
What if he was going there to meet some friends to go on a ride? If he did not enter the establishment with his CCW or drink no law was broken.
Seems thin to me. Like anorexic. But hey whatever, it really doesn't matter. What's done is done, we will just have to see how it plays out.

So far we dont know what he intended or if he had it on him or if he "cooled down" and stowed it before going in the bar
These incidents are so unfortunate for everyone involved. Like others have said, his best bet is to be quiet and let his attorney do his talking for him. It is so much easier for your attorney to explain away what you didn't say than it is for him to take back what you did say, however innocently.
