I've done a lot of transactions here over the years and most all have been decent. I always want a forum member with post history and a feedback thread to get a feel for the person you are dealing with.

Our PD has an area set up specifically set up to complete transactions of any type that the public can use. It is well lighted, in front of the PD and the area is highly visible to the public and the on duty desk officer.
That's a pretty decent idea.

I've had about 5 transactions that didn't get completed due to people not wanting too meet at my PD and stopped all communication afterwards. Normally, when you tell a buyer that, they are like "hell ya".

PD's and Banks have lots of cameras. Daylight hours with people around is most always a sure bet to a safe transaction, but now adays, that doesn't hold a lot of water.

I’ve had two of these “stop communication” things happen after selecting a Police substation parking lot as a meeting place in the last couple of weeks. I sent a follow up msg to both and still have not gotten a response.

Don't forget QT's. Next to casino's they have some of the best video surveillance out there. Obviously they don't have the security of meeting at a PD or a Sheriff's office, but if you're looking to be on video QT is hard to beat.

I always take a backup. Last transaction was in another town, halfway between seller and buyer.
One of our members lives in that town so asked if he would drive out and sit near the site where I was buying. He did and everything went well.
You can't be too careful these days......nice, safe move on your part.......congrats
