Smith and Wesson 686+ with 4" barrel. It's legal for hunting deer, can legally carry with permit, simple, reliable, can shoot .38s (less recoil and family can use it easily without much thought).

If given a second choice it would probably be my Marlin 39A

Heckler and Koch MP5K-PDW. I had a chance to by a pre-86 MP5K when I was in my 20s, before they were stupid high. Had a neat wire side folder that fit in to the front grip. Didn't do it. Kids are expensive. If only, if only!

Anyway, this would do the trick. Lots of magazines, and a nice suppressor. Perfect for Dove season?
