If I were able to carry it about with no legal issue, I'd have to say my Saiga 12. Not only is mine a reliable and versatile piece of equipment with readily available parts, but the only time I've ever had more fun shooting a gun was when I was young and had a bucket full of army men and a shiny new Red Ryder.

Remington 870 12 ga. Given no limits on ammunition or accessories (stocks, barrels, etc). Covers all of my hunting needs. Not perfectly, but adequately. Can handle everything else except deep concealment.

This isn't my favorite gun, but if I could only have one, I like this idea:

21 rounds of 9mm on board
Flashlight
Night Sights
Laser
Suppressor

It can be concealed and quiet...

12ga Pump Shotgun with 18" or 20" barrel.

Reliable, easy to maintain and with the right shotshell or slug there isn't anything that walks on two feet or 4, crawls or flies in North America that it can't kill.
