The stick welder from a microwave was pretty interesting.
I built one a few years ago, I hooked a mig spool gun up to it so u could run flux core wire, was great for exhaust.
Have done something similar. Similar as far as using a water bottle, anyways.
Would take an empty water bottle and fill it with acetone at work. Seal tightly and take the bottle to deer camp. Doesn't matter if the wood is wet or dry, as the acetone will absorb the water. Pile your firewood in the fire pit. Open bottle and pour a liberal amount of acetone all over the wood. Step back a step or two. Further if using the whole bottle of acetone or the air is cold and humid. Strike a match and throw into pit. oooooooooooooo pretty, blue flames.
His method is interesting, though.
