Anybody have a live trap big enough to catch a lab sized dog? Got a couple strays reeking havoc at one of my sites, setting off motion sensor alarms etc. Treed one of the workers one night. The alternative is my suppressed 10/22 but i dont really want to kill a dog if i don't have too

Local animal control agencies sometimes loan out live traps for skunks, dogs & cats. Mine town charges a $50 deposit.. to guarantee the return of the trap. and they come out to get the animal so you don't have to mess with it.

I've got a coyote trap that I will sell for $100. I kept catching my big yellow lab in it. He wasn't very bright. I finally had to quit trying to catch coyotes.
Let me know if you are interested and I will send photos.

As bad as it sounds I shoot them. Its 4 months after Xmas and time for people to start dumpin dogs on dirt roads. Easter dumps start in late august, usually more cats than dogs.

So sad but thats how it works.

Once you trap the dog, then what? Are you just going to take it to some other spot and turn it loose where it becomes someone else's problem?

I'd have to agree with the above, re just go ahead and put the animal down.

Uh, ok .... question here....

I've got a relative that said it's a big no-no to shoot dogs. (think animal rights people, and those types)
I haven't researched it, and honesty when I was told that - it seemed goofy.
As in, are you pulling my leg?

Is this not the case?
