Gonna try to swirl paint my stock on my Ruger American creedmoor bold action. Never done this before and going to use the borax method.
Going to test out on a few objects of similar texture and material first then clear coat. Going to get bold with it.
I've never did swirl painting nor have I panted a synthetic material before, so I'll have to figure out a few things. Lots of tutorials on youtube but will have to figure out if I need to sand and prime the stock first.
This will be a fun project.

Even if you screw or up you could possibly sand or strip it (think the eco friendly strippers) or put a base coat of say black pain and try again.

I did one with an old net laundry bag and some krylon camo in forest green, brown, and flat black. Put a couple coats of satin clear coat over it. Looked like snakeskin; it came out great! Wish I hadn't sold the dang thing...
