How will France stop the rioting? It's costing them billions overall I would think in destroyed property, loss of tourism, on and on. If the gov't concedes which they have it won't help, they'll continue their reign of destruction. The gov't could use Stalin techniques...

Those are the only tactics that work in such situations.

Macron was supposed to give a speech tonight. I guess we will find out tomorrow what he said to calm this down.

It seems that once the demonstrators get on a roll they multiply and are hard to stop-especially when a leader espouses them and sends them away with encouragement.

The parallels are interesting
...Now, the protesting Parisians aren’t conservatives in the American sense – lots of their demands have a lefty vibe. But what they do share with us is how the abuse les deplorables have suffered mirrors the abuse America’s increasingly militant Normals have put up with. The French elite has kept dumping on them for decades, impoverishing them through economic mismanagement, cronyism, and corruption, changing their culture without bothering to ask permission through unlimited Third World immigration, and taxing them to increase elite wealth while stripping them of a say in their own government.

Sound familiar?

Take away the cheese, the berets, and the ridiculous accents, then subtract Donald Trump, and what’s going down in France would be going down here. The difference is that we revolted at the ballot box. The French elected an insider who despises the people, and he carried the elite’s water. They had no choice but to submit or to take to the streets. In contrast, we elected an outsider who despises the elite. After all, Trump knows the elite intimately – they used to suck up to him for cash and he has nothing but contempt for their greed, incompetence and weakness.

We didn’t have to take to the streets to be heard. We had Trump tweeting on our behalf. He is our bad orange man riot.

But now the elite, with the aid of its catamite media and the Fredocon quisling crew, is doing everything it can to destroy this threat – the threat posed by us Normal people demanding a say in how our country is run.

Macron made his speech today to placate the yellow vests. On video, he looked like a hostage giving a speech to save his life.

Trying to quell violent protests across France's major cities, President Emmanuel Macron on Monday introduced a series of new measures he hopes will chart a path out of the political crisis and put an end to the anti-government demonstrations.

In a 13-minute speech from the Elysée Palace, Macron declared "a state of social and economic emergency," offering a handful of concessions to his critics, including promises to deliver tax relief for the poor and to cancel a tax increase on retirees.

It was his first public address after a week of silence, during which the gilets jaunesyellow vests — protests continued to wreak havoc and mayhem on the streets of Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lyon, Dijon and Toulouse for the fourth weekend in a row.

Macron's plan to placate the yellow vests included a 100 euro per month minimum wage hike — equivalent to $114 per month — set to go into effect on Jan. 1, 2019. He paired the raise with the elimination of tax on overtime and end-of-the-year bonuses, and he encouraged employers "who can" to give bonuses as a way of helping to solve the social crisis in France. He also rescinded a planned tax on pensions that are under 2,000 euro per month.

Exactly. All of these social programs require tax money from the people. The entire purpose of the green movement is a cover to raise tax money to advance socialism....its not to save the planet.

This is bigger than France. I understand there has been a large protest (no violence) in England. And you've already heard of the events in the Netherlands and Belgium.....Interesting times
