This pretty much sums it up. BB...this is what GC was talking about.

Enjoy DH!

Yep ... that's what he said last night. He is just sick and tired of being a JBT. I mean really really really sick and tired of it. However, unlike his darling bride, he still likes to get out and see folks ... Probably why he has a damned deal of some sort or another set up for every single day he gets off ... I swear, if the world as we know it ever ends, I have no worries ... I am married to the horse-tradin'-est man on the planet ... :wink2:

I've given up keeping track of what we have that's related to guns, ammo and shooting ... because it changes every, single week ... If he's not trading with one of you guys here, he's over on armslist doing some kind of deal ... :disappoin But ... he enjoys it and we finally have enough money that he can do pretty much whatever he wants without getting into the grocery money, so as long as he's happy it's all good ...

:lookaroun **Most** of the time ... :wink2:

Congrats Dennis!

Sounds like you did it right.

I retired spring of 2010 at 58 years old with 35 years with another electric co. They decided to have a buy out. I was debt free by then, but didn't think I could till they showed me the deal...took it immediately and never looked back.

I have the same insurance deal as you. Even started getting Socialist Security just after Thanksgiving. Never knew life could be so good.

Now you can concentrate on making jerky as good as mine ! :)

As a recent retired guy, I'm going to offer some advice that may help you in the future. I got this advice 15 years ago, and actually followed it. I'll be comfortable in my future life because of it. #1. make sure you have enough credits to qualify for Social Security, no matter what this forum thinks of it. #2. Visit every financial advisor in your area, and schedule a meeting with them in your 30's or 40's. 50's isn't too late. Look at their plans, mark them and watch their performance over ten or so years. If they offer to customize the way your 401K is allocated, try it. This is what they do for a living and its worth following their advice. #3. I know its hard, but I had a goal when in my 20's to be debt free when reaching 55. It happened. Make a goal, and make everything in your life focus on your goal. Retirement is not the day you stopped working. Its the day you started the first day of the rest of your life. Make of it what you may. #4. Make sure you have a hobby, etc to keep yourself busy. My dad died two years after he retired to the couch in front of the TV.

Sounds like great advice. Thanks for sharing. Congrats!

Now that you aren't tied to a 8-5 job you have time to line up at 4:30 every morning At WM with the other retirees to scoop up the bulk .22 ammo.

We are expecting some good deals on .22 ammo in the classifieds soon, Ponce City area.

This is your chance to teach those ammo gougers A lesson once and for all.

Thanks and, We appreciate it.

Congrats my friend. One question so how do you know which days are your day off now? 10 years behind you.
