Went to the range today, and tried out the new to me remington 798 in 375 H&H. Not too bad, not sure I like the rear sight, but wasnt as bad as I expected.
I'd say it should be close to a 300 wby, maybe a little more. I was able to run thru 10 rounds and though I was sore, I can say I could of gone thru more rounds without a flinch. I never have shot my 300 ultramag standing, so cant give a fair comparison. It's less then the ultramag as far as the 300 off one of the benches there vs the big guy standing. Had two holes actually touching. It was sold as used, but appears to have been never shot, with no marks on the bolt. My shoulder has the usual red spots all over it, but nothing you havent seen with a 300 wby. Sports World has two more of these babies on the used racks on the floor. However, both I found were 458 winnies. One of those downloaded somewhat might be a fun pumpkin blaster for the price!
