Mom and dad live in Enid. Mom has been talking to one of the nurses. She says a possible bird strike. Might explain for the double crash.
Prayers for the families

RIP.

Those T-38s are getting long in the tooth.

Yep- So are the B-52 's that still are flying.
"Only the H model is still in the Air Force inventory and is assigned to the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB, North Dakota, and the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, which fall under Air Force Global Strike Command. The aircraft is also assigned to the Air Force Reserve Command's 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale AFB."

I’m in that area a lot where they train. Nice warm day during hunting season while taking a break I’ll lay down on the back side of the pond dam to watch them practice dog fighting overhead.
Don’t know if that is what happened but it’s a tragedy.

Truly another tragedy of our servicemen dying while stateside in a “training”
Accident. The amount of deaths due to “training accidents” is astonishing. I pray their families can find comfort in the Lord.

The T-38 is supposed to be replaced with the T-7A in 2023.

First training death at Vance since 2000. 800-1000 landings per day. The two Talons were landing when the one went inverted and didn't recover.
