Way OT: Young Adult book about Oklahoma or by Oklahoman?

So far off topic, but we have a wide cross-section of folks on here, surely someone can help.

My 14 yr old needs to read a book either authored by someone from Oklahoma, or set in Oklahoma.
The book can't be too long, as in typical fashion for him, he has put it off until the last minute.

Any suggestions for a title/author?
Oh, the teacher has ruled out "The Outsiders".

Bill Wallace was an Oklahoma author. He wrote children books. Sorry it is not much help.

I dunno what he likes to read but you could take a look here and then maybe buy at the bookstore or order off Amazon and pay for the 1 day shipping.
