If you are not a player on the team or one of the coaches of the team then you are not part of the we. If you use "we" to make a statement about a team you follow then you have probably never played an organized team sport in your life.

I just figured that people who use "WE" when their favorite team wins and "THEY" when their favorite team loses....are just confused about their pronouns.

Well, I will still say “we” referring to OU. I’ve given the school enough money over the years. And I went to two football camps.
